Celebrating 100 Years of Castle Ring: Join the Centenary Photo Trail
This autumn marks a very special milestone for Cannock Chase. Castle Ring, our iconic Iron Age hillfort and the highest point on the Chase, has officially celebrated 100 years as a Scheduled Ancient Monument. First listed on 30 November 1925, Castle Ring has stood as a proud guardian of our local heritage, offering sweeping views and a fascinating glimpse into the past.

To celebrate this centenary, we’re inviting you to take part in a brand‑new challenge: the Castle Ring Centenary Photo Trail, now live on the Cannock Chase Can App.
Explore, Capture, Celebrate
The Photo Trail is a fun, interactive way to connect with history, nature, and wellbeing. Here’s how it works:
- Capture 10 landmark photos around Castle Ring, each highlighting its history and wildlife.
- Unlock points as you complete the trail and track your progress.
- Discover stories about the site’s heritage while enjoying the outdoors.
You’ll find the challenge under the Feel Well and Naturally Well sections of the App, available on iOS and Android. Follow the instructions below to find out more.
